Australia's Manuka Active Jellybush Honey is Australia’s answer to New Zealand’s Manuka Honey with its unique medicinal properties not found in other honey. The bees feeding on the Jellybush plants or Leptospermum produce a type of honey that has a special phytochemical property called the “Unique Leptospermum Factor – ULF” as well as hydrogen peroxide releasing enzymes.

The ULF is an indicator of the strength of the antibacterial effect and a guarantee that the honey has been tested and verified for its antibacterial activity. A 10+ rating is considered a therapeutic strength.

Australia's Manuka Active Jellybush honey is above the 16+ range of activity and is not mixed or diluted for standardisation of the activity. The word “active” refers to the ability of the Australian Jellybush Honey to kill or inhibit the growth of many bacteria or fungi as tested by specific laboratory tests.

Research has proven that the properties unique to this honey have antimicrobial properties. Active Jellybush Honey also has phenolic compounds such as flavanoids which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
